Little Market NYC Lets Customers Shop Women-Owned Small Businesses

August 30 07:03 2022
Little Market NYC is one of those special places to shop in NYC where customers can support local businesses while shopping women-owned vendors. Founder Kimberly Feng has created a community for female business owners and consumers to support equality.

Little Market NYC was founded to give NYC locals a place to shop women-owned small businesses while supporting equality. With locations in SoHo and NoHo, numerous women have grown their small businesses in NYC.

“Little Market NYC is a community that we created to provide a space for women-owned businesses in New York,” said Kimberly Feng, founder of Little Market NYC. “It gives them a place to showcase their products and interact with customers.”

As one might imagine, procuring a physical location for a small business in New York City can be incredibly difficult. For many, a brick-and-mortar store costs simply too much while getting started. But Feng aimed to provide opportunities for women-owned businesses, allowing them to expose their brands to NYC’s prime shopping area.

“I’ve been in so many markets, and we didn’t see the support for mostly women-owned businesses,” Feng said when asked why she chose to support female entrepreneurs. “I thought there was a need.”

Support equality, shop local

Collaboration and discovery run free at Little Market NYC. The market provides a platform for local artists to showcase their wares, growing the next generation of female creators and entrepreneurs. The Little Market NYC Instagram page features many of the unique products and vendors Feng showcases.

“We are a community of women designers, dreamers, and tastemakers inspired to create the

worlds next best brands,” Feng said.

Big prospects for Little Market NYC

Take a look inside Little Market NYC and meet founder Kimberly Feng as she talks about creating a space for women-owned small businesses in NYC as an Asian American woman.

A family affair for the Feng women

Feng operates the SoHo and NoHo Little Market NYC locations with her twin sisters. The Feng women have both Chinese and Venezuelan heritage. Beyond supporting Asian businesses, they dreamed of creating a space where women from rich, diverse backgrounds could support each other as they grow their entrepreneurial efforts.
