Beirut – 3rd July, 2019 – Lebanese rock singer-songwriter Imad Jack Karam, also known by his initials as IJK, has announced the release of his latest single and music video entitled “Chedd Halak”.
The song is a guitar-driven rock tune with a catchy melody and is sang entirely in Lebanese. “Chedd Halak” is a satire of the corrupted political clique in Lebanon, one that excels at promising but never delivering. The fun music video showcases a politician talking ceaselessly while the background paints a deteriorating environment and a polluted country. The video also features band members making fun of the demagogic symbolic character.
“Chedd Halak” – which means “do some real efforts” or “get your act together” – is a wake-up call to all those who care about Lebanon and raises a red flag with regards to the dire situation of the country: If no real and urgent action is taken towards protecting its environment and boosting its economy, the situation might reach the point of no return.
“Chedd Halak” is written, composed and performed by Imad Jack Karam. The song was produced at Maloy Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
About Imad Jack Karam:
IJK is a Lebanese-Greek singer-songwriter born in Lebanon. He was raised during the Lebanese civil war and has witnessed the destructive impact it had on the beautiful country of cedars. After moving to Europe to complete his studies, he started his musical career in London, UK before moving back to the Middle East where he is currently releasing songs both in English and Arabic. His music is characterized by a rock and roll style and a crooner sound. His lyrics tackle a diverse range of topics from biographies (“Johnny & June”) to philosophical subjects (“Space Odyssey”).
