INTERVIEW WITH FOUNDER LESLIE DINGER AND

CELEBRITY ATTENDEE LISA CHRISTIANSEN

Associated Press News: Good morning Leslie, so, tell me more about the Baxter Springs Jeep Invasion, your mission, and why you decided to spearhead this event:

Leslie Dinger: Absolutely! So my husband and I are just in a small town right off route 66. We wanted to help throw an event that might get the community a little more involved and bring some more life into town while supporting a good cause. This is our first year starting out so still getting the grip on things. But we decided to partner yearly with the charity Mission 22. Which is a veteran ran charity supporting veterans with PTSD And so on. We are hoping to continue the event every year and grow each year. It looks like next year we are already going to have to switch to a larger venue. This year we have two local area bands performing live music, (paid for my local town businesses who decided to sponsor) Powerwheels kiddie car show, charity jeep show, and a few small vendors. Every bit of proceeds for the event will donated to the Charity Mission 22.

Associated Press News: Good morning Lisa, why are you attending the Baxter Springs Jeep Invasion and which Jeep did you register in this inaugural event?

Lisa Christiansen: Well, I am new to Jeeping and very enthusiastic about making new like-minded friends in the Jeep community. I want to learn more about off-roading, the abilities of my Jeeps and how they differ. I also love seeing how others have customized theirs to get new ideas and insight. This will be my 3rd event, technically my 2nd event because the 1st event I missed much of because I didn’t know anything about Jeeping or the family that comes with this company. I am very excited about entering 2 Jeeps in this event. I am entering Phoenix my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon customized with RoughCountry accessories such as my light bar and light pods. I am also entering Dolce Vita which is my 2021 Renegade Trailhawk that is in the beginning stages of modifications by Crystal and Howard Ashwood of 7Slots Customs designs. Also, I am thrilled about the cause of Mission 22 because PTSD and Crisis Management are very critical to address and strongly under recognized. Our soldiers are a part of God’s army because this is the land of the free because of the home of the brave!

Associated Press News: Leslie how did you meet Lisa Christiansen?

Leslie Dinger: We had just met by Chance through the jeep community and in passing! She was the Eureka Springs Jeep Fest we didn’t get to really talk or anything but I reached out to her regarding our event and here we are!

Associated Press News: What is Mission 22? Mission 22 is a national community supporting active service members, Veterans, and their family members, through three areas of focus: support and Treatment Programs — for active service members, Veterans, and their family members, addressing Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, suicide risk and other challenges. Social Impact — uniting civilians and the military community to raise awareness of issues active service members, veterans, and their family members face. Memorials — remembering and honoring service members and Veterans through large scale installations and digital initiatives, while raising awareness for issues faced on home soil.

We heal veterans when they need it most — right now. It takes a community to heal a Warrior and it takes a Warrior to heal a community.
