The Interchange Institute Calls for Intercultural Training Expertise Certification (ITEC) Applicants

August 29 16:06 2022
ITEC is a global certification for those who work with intercultural communication, intercultural coaches, support international living, and more.

The Interchange Institute, a non-profit research organization, announces its call for Intercultural Training Expertise Certification (ITEC) applicants. ITEC is a global certification for intercultural coaches and interculturalists as well as those who work with intercultural communication and support international living.

“News and political events have underscored the urgency for interculturalists. The work of smoothing intercultural transitions has never been so critical. The work of helping others understand us and of coming to understand others is our mission,” said The Interchange Institute founder Anne Copeland.

Interculturalists are people who drive collaborations across cultures. They are specialists who empower people to operate in an unfamiliar environment and with diverse people from varying cultures.

The ITEC certification provides a voluntary system to certify intercultural trainers who demonstrate expertise in various domains, for use in the marketing of their services and to communicate their level of preparedness to do intercultural training. It also assists providers of training services and those who hire interculturalists, who otherwise are left to sort through widely-divergent paths of preparation, by offering an independent assessment of an intercultural trainer’s preparedness.

Lastly, applicants can use the ITEC framework to shape their learning and development as well as build their ePortfolio overtime time until they are ready to apply.

The course offers two levels of certification, for the Certified Trainer and the Certified Senior Trainer.
