YTO Express, one of China’s largest courier companies, announced on Tuesday in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province that it has been named as the official logistics services sponsor of the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
It is the first time that a Chinese courier company has been chosen to cooperate with a large international comprehensive event.
YTO Express will provide logistics services for the Games, including domestic and foreign express, material customs clearance, warehousing management and venue logistics, according to Chen Weiqiang, deputy secretary-general of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and vice-mayor of Hangzhou China, who was present at the press conference.
The courier company will also establish a logistic base for Hangzhou 2022 in a bid to ensure the security of the Games’ material reserves, Chen added.
Husain Al-Musallam, director general of Olympic Council of Asia offered his congratulations on the cooperation between YTO Express and Hangzhou 2022 through a congratulatory letter.
“Logistics play an irreplaceable role in delivering a tremendous Asian Games,” said Musallam, adding that he believed with the widespread logistics network and varieties of professional services of YTO Express, HAGOC and all the participants of the Hangzhou 2022 will have excellent logistics experiences.
During the press conference, a special parcel was packaged on-site and will be sent to the headquarters of OCA in Kuwait via YTO Express.
The parcel included emblems of the previous Asian Games made by HAGOC, which was the first time the OCA has authorized the host city to produce, badges printed with the Games’ emblem “Tiding Surging” and the YTO Express logo as well as the courier company’s newly-designed work uniform printed with the Games’ design elements.
Yu Weijiao, chairman of YTO Express, vowed to utilize the company’s advanced logistics system and professional delivery personnel to provide safe, fast, convenient and reliable express logistics services during the preparations for and opening of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
To date, the total number of signed sponsorship companies of Hangzhou 2022 exceeds 30. In the future, the organizing committee will seek opportunities to attract more sponsoring enterprises to participate in the preparation and organizing of Hangzhou 2022.
