Founded by Dr. Adesina, Smashusmle Reviews was developed to simplify the learning process for international medical graduates (IMGs) preparing to take the USMLE. As an immigrant from Nigeria, Dr. Adesina faced countless challenges when entering the American medical education system. Dr. Adesina realized that there is a shortage of doctors in America and that IMGs are needed to fill the gap. However, the USMLE poses unique difficulties to minorities and immigrants, which he couldn’t ignore any longer. In addition to navigating the vast field of medicine, IMGs are forced to overcome numerous cultural challenges, including ever-present language barriers.
Smashusmle Reviews includes over 700 video lessons covering 220 hours of medical lectures. It also incorporates flashcards and test day strategies into its detailed curriculum. Dr. Adesina’s program has assisted over 1200 IMGs pass the USMLE. Not to mention, his YouTube channel has garnered over 150k subscribers and already helped 10 million healthcare providers globally.
Dr. Adesina’s passion for supporting international medical graduates stems from his struggles as an immigrant. He encountered rejection and criticism before realizing the much larger issue that stood before him. With that, Smashusmle Reviews was created to break down complex subjects, making them more accessible to medical students, especially those immigrating to the United States. “I understand the challenges IMGs face, as I faced similar issues,” he says.
