Although initially started as a website for hard-of-hearing people who require subtitles, readwatch.org soon realized that some ordinary people also preferred reading subtitles as opposed to consuming information with their ears. Aligning itself with the discovery, ReadWatch has successfully positioned itself as a reliable alternative for people who love to read more than they love to watch videos.
The ReadWatch project was intuitively designed by an expert team of experienced computer programmers. The project relies on complex, specially developed software algorithms, based neural networks, which ReadWatch claims allows users to automatically decrypt up to 7000 videos per day.
According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), one in eight Americans aged 12 years or older has hearing loss in both ears based on standard hearing examinations. And men are twice as likely as women to have hearing loss among adults aged 20 – 69.
