New York, USA – December 7, 2021 – Nanotechnology has enjoyed rapid growth in the past years. Metal nanoparticles, as an class of nanomaterials, hold great promise for various applications owing to their unique optical, electrical and chemical properties. To make such materials more conveniently obtained, earlier this month Alfa Chemistry announces to launch a series of nanoprisms, including silver nanoprisms, gold nanoprisms, copper nanoprisms and TiO2 nanoprisms, for clients both at home and abroad.

Composed of nano-flakes, nanoprisms is a kind of nanomaterial with prismatic morphology. With excellent optical and chemical properties, nanoprisms can be widely applied in fields like biological imaging, biosensor, biomolecule and inorganic ion detection, optical sensor, etc.

“Nanoprisms are used to adjust color of chemical systems they are mixed with, for example, in organic photovoltaic devices,” says one of the senior scientists from Alfa Chemistry. “The size of the nanoprisms determines the absorption wavelength.”

Classification of nanoprisms

Silver nanoprisms

Such nanoprisms can be prepared by light induction, thermal transformation, microemulsion method, reduction method and other methods. Via appropriate surface modification and assembly, silver nanoprisms can obtain new functions. Triangular silver nanoprisms belong to the metal nanoparticle type and have found potential uses in solar cells, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), catalysis and bio-applications.

Gold nanoprisms

The modified gold nanoprisms have important applications in the field of in vivo imaging biosensors.

With sufficient expert knowledge and years of tireless efforts, researchers at Alfa Chemistry have developed more and more other types of nanoprisms, such as copper nanoprisms and TiO2 nanoprisms. Below are just some of the nanoprisms offered by this company:

Tellurium Nanoprisms (CAS 13494-80-9), Niobium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-03-1), Palladium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-05-3), Platinum Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-06-4), Rhenium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-15-5), Scandium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-20-2), Tantalum Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-25-7), Tin Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-31-5), Boron Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-42-8), Germanium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-56-4), Gold Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-57-5), Vanadium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-62-2), Yttrium Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-65-5), Bismuth Nanoprisms (CAS 7440-69-9), Calcium Nanoprisms, Copper Zinc Alloy Nanoprisms and more.
